Helicopter Thrill for Two (UK Wide) Nothing else comes close to touching the magic of vertical flight. From the moment you lift into the air to the second the helicopter settles gracefully back on the ground it is an unforgettable experience. Take your seats as the pilot climbs gracefully to over 1,000 feet and accelerates to over 120 miles an hour. You will interact with the pilot via the headset (don 't forget to listen out for air traffic on the radio!), swooping over the landscape and then settling gently back on the ground. Itinerary: On arrival you will meet your pilot and receive a brief technical and safety briefing then it 's up, up and away as you accelerate vertically into the skies. Your pilot will put the helicopter through its paces to show you just how versatile these incredible machines really are. Skim across the trees and watch the world pass beneath you before coming into land after a five minute adrenaline rush that is sure to be the envy of all your friends! Air Sphereing Experience For Two Air-Sphereing is the latest extreme ride that is a heady mix of adrenaline exhilaration and intensity. This unique experience combines the thrill of rolling down a hill inside a giant inflatable ball whilst flying in a vertical wind tunnel. Riders will enter an 8ft inflatable sphere and let the mighty power of the 150mph Airkix wind tunnel do the rest as they enjoy the ride if their lives. You'llthen enter the staging area of the tunnel with your group pair by pair you will enter the flight chamber of the tunnel and dive into the sphere taking hold of the handles. The instructors will check you are comfortable before they exit the air stream it’s then over to the controller who fires up 1 000 HP of power to take you the equivalent of 4 laps of an athletics track. You will then experience the adrenalin fuelled world of Air-Sphereing® as the Sphere is lifted off the ground by the 150mph airflow. The wind power will then be reduced and you will be placed right way up before the instructors check to see that you are shaken but not stirred before you make way for the next intrepid riders. Maximum weight: 18st (114kg) Minimum age: 10 (under 18’s need parental consent) Participants should be in good general health. Participants will be unable to fly if they are pregnant have previously suffered from a dislocated shoulder are wearing a hard plaster cast or are under the influence of alcohol or non-prescribed drugs. Tales Out of School: Four Plays by David Leland These four television films originally screened by Channel 4 in 1983 brought the emerging writing talent of former actor David Leland to national attention. He would subsequently win a BAFTA Award for his directorial debut Wish You Were Here and an Emmy Award for his contribution to Band of Brothers and work on screenplays for Mona Lisa and Personal Services. Featuring early roles for Tim Roth and Jim Broadbent the plays form a scathing portrait of British society in the early 1980s focusing in particular on the polarisation of attitudes towards the role and methods of education in an increasingly fragmented society. Without overtly offering solutions Leland s plays depict - often with unnerving acuity and foresight - the experience of individuals within systems that have become inadequate in dealing with the fallout of social breakdown. Of the four plays presented here Made in Britain directed by Alan Clarke (Scum) inevitably aroused the strongest controversy with Tim Roth s astonishing portrayal of a nihilistic racist teenage skinhead captured by Chris Menges innovative cinematography; the screenplay won Leland the Prix Italia in 1983. / Birth of a Nation - Featuring Jim Broadbent the play dramatises the conflict between old authoritarian teaching methods and the more relaxed approach of progressive educationalists. / Flying into the Wind - Graham Crowden stars in a play depicting the battle between parents who want to home-educate their children and the local education authority. / R.H.I.N.O. - The harrowing story of Angela a disenfranchised young black girl living in 1980s London and her encounters with a well-meaning but often ineffectual social system. / Made in Britain - Directed by Alan Clarke Tim Roth makes his TV debut as a hate-filled teenage skinhead on a self-destructive campaign destined to lead to permanent incarceration.
